Key components of this mission include fostering strategic alliances and partnerships to promote sustainable economic prosperity and an attractive quality of life.  The Chamber further serves as an advocate for and promoter of the Harlingen area and supports the diverse cultures of the community.

The Harlingen Area Chamber of Commerce is a member-driven organization of volunteers who invest their time and resources in the community, working together to improve the area’s economic, civic and cultural well-being, all in an effort to establish the Harlingen area as a superior place in which to live, work, visit and invest.

The Harlingen Area Chamber of Commerce is one of the few Chambers in the state that houses three departments: community development, economic development, and a convention & visitors bureau. Each is devoted to improving the local business climate, bringing new and expanding businesses to the area, and making Harlingen a destination point for visitors and those considering retiring or relocating to our area.

Any business or citizen interested in fostering area development (which means more money, more business, more jobs and better living for everyone) is eligible to be a member of the HACC. The dues investment structure is designed to allow even the smallest business or individual to become a member.
